Some visits were short (but always memorable) while in other cases we had the opportunity to travel, live and work in
a country for months or, in the case of China, more than a year.
One thing we have learned from our travels is that the world is an amazing place and well worth looking after.
Top of our respective wish lists of places we have never been but really, really want to visit:

Update Feb '09 - Just back from Ecuador. What a great country. We are going to spend most of next winter there, if
it works out.
Update 2010 - we didn't make it back to Ecuador, in fact we decided not to because the altitude was
just too much for us. Lovely country, though.
Update 2011 - we almost went back
to Ecuador but decided, finally, to visit Chiapas, Mexico which has been on our want-to-do list for years. The Blog has a
longish post on what happened there. The current plan is to return in 2012 but who knows?
